Trip to York Races

York traces a fascinating history back to Roman and Viking times. Today it is a bustling city growing as a commercial, tourist and regional centre. A fine range of restaurants, shopping opportunities and attractions, including the Jorvik Viking Centre and National Railway Museum, as well as the history of the Minster, Castle and City Walls, supplements York’s extensive selection of excellent hotel accommodation.

York Racecourse are proud to have retained the Racegoers Club Award as ‘Leading Northern Racecourse’, an accolade that no other track has ever won since its inception in the late 1980s. This represents the 23rd occasion York has won this award from the Racegoers Club – the largest organisation of its type in British Racing. We can also be described as their ‘Favourite Flat racecourse’ coming second to Cheltenham in the overall category.
